Fun For The Family

Here we have a collection of our reviews that are specifically aimed at families and games that are great for groups of people. These games should appease both the tactician and the game-illiterate grandma at whatever function you bring them to. Each of these reviews are paired with a section written by our in house non-gamer to let you know if you think it would fit your family. These games are also aimed for larger groups.

Good Cop Bad Cop

This game is an excellent party game for four to eight players. It may appear complex at the start but everything is handily written on the back of a piece that gets handed around. I don't think is for everyone but anyone who is 13-14+ should have a great time!

So Clover!

So Clover! is an absolutely excellent game for the family. As you'll see in the review there are very few categories of people who would not enjoy this game. This is a great way for younger children to learn new words or just practice their vocabulary. Even for adults this game is fantastic and a real challenge. I've played this game with many diffrent groups of people and I can irrefutably say it's the perfect fit for anyone of any skill set. I'm certain even your drunk grandmother at Christmas will be able to play and (hopefully) have a great time!

Skull

This game is absolutely excellent for anyone who does not know how to play board games. The rules are incredibly simple and it is fast paced. This means that even if you lose quickly in the first rounds, there is nothing stopping you from coming back in the near future. Any family gathering or trip would love this game and I would recommend it for people of any age. I do worry a little that the skulls might scare a younger demographic but otherwise, it's simple enough most children would be able to enjoy.

Monikers

Monikers is a fantastic game for the family or for any gathering. I've played this game with parents, kids, neighbours, and everyone in-between. There is no need to be game literate or to grasp anything past the household classic of charades. Sometimes it can be a bit of a challenge to understand the rules but as long as you have one person directing the flow of the game it should go over smoothly. This is an absolute must for any get together and pairs nicely with a good glass of red.
